Which Poetry Books Knocked Your Knickers Off?

It’s the cruel month, everyone. It’s April and time to care about poetry.
Whether April as poetry month accomplishes what it set out to accomplish, I’ll never know. However, I do know that spring makes me want to read more. I’m ready to buy a whole load of books (mostly poetry) to last me through the summer.
With that in mind, what poetry books do you recommend and why?

Ron Slate put together a nice selection of responses on this topic, phrased as recommendations. You can find it on his site (ronslate.com).
I’m really enjoying the frequent posts, Deb!
Thanks. I was reminded of Cecily Parks in that Ron Slate blog post.
Deb,
This Clumsy Living, by Bob Hicok was absolutely brilliant! I’ve loved his work before but there is something so human about this recent collection that captures me.
Dancing in Odessa, by Ilya Kaminsky was wonderful as well. Gorgeous poems!
Wow. I could make a list. My books are still in the East and I am in the West, but the one book I will bring back with me is Journey to the Interior. It’s actually an anthology of poems, but the entire Journey to the Interior by Theodore Roethke is in it, not just the first 30 lines, and it is lovely.

I am now devouring Luck is Luck after being blown away by I’ve Heard the Vultures Singing.
