32 Poems May Need YOU

The only way to expand the magazine and accomplish some of my goals for 32 Poems is to get help. That’s where you may come into the picture.

We’re looking for a web-savvy poet interested in working on our magazine. Preferably, you are a subscriber, you have read many issues of the magazine and have magazine experience.

The work would involve:

  1. Organizing readings;
  2. Increasing library subscriptions.

Necessary skills include:

  1. Able to get along with people;
  2. Can use a computer in your sleep;
  3. Dreaming in sonnets or line breaks;
  4. Email of course;
  5. Customer service skills;
  6. Good telephone presence.

If you want to organize readings, you should live in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago or DC. You can live in another area if there’s a vibrant poetry scene there. We’re looking for more than one person for this role.

If you want to increase library subs, you’ll need a computer, internet access and follow-up skills. You can live anywhere as long as you can send emails.

THE PAYMENT:
We’re all working for free here, so there’s no payment besides working with people I think are cool, getting magazine experience, seeing how to run a magazine, and enjoying the results of a job well done.

Plus: If you can use Skype to communicate with me.

HOW TO APPLY:
I don’t want to read resumes at this point and definitely don’t want to open MS Word (or any other attachment). Please put the position in the subject field (either Poetry Reading Organizer or Library Subscription Organizer) and write 5 bullet points on why you are perfect for the position. I’ll comb through the applications and request more information if it seems like a good fit.

Emails with attachments will be deleted unread. Email me at deborah@(removethispartbetweenparens)32poems.com.

If you have questions, please put them in the comments. That way, everyone can benefit from the answer.
